Entrepreneurial Engineer wanted for Independent Industrial Fan Sales Representative in the New York City area.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Outside Technical Sales Representative responsible for generating new business and maintaining existing customer relationships by selling industrial fan solutions to clients across various industries. This role involves prospecting, cold calling, conducting client meetings, preparing proposals, and closing deals. Therefore, excellent communication skills and mechanical aptitude that can be applied towards learning and subsequently explaining technical details to customers about our products are essential.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify leads, proactively prospecting and selling new, competitively priced industrial fan equipment across various industries in a defined territory.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure repeat business and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct in-person meetings and presentations to showcase industrial fan products and solutions.
- Prepare and deliver sales proposals, quotes, and contracts based on client needs.
- Collaborate with the engineering and technical teams to ensure accurate product recommendations.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to identify sales opportunities.
- Attend trade shows, conferences, and industry events to promote products and expand the customer base.
- Provide regular sales reports and updates to the Director of National Sales and VP - Sales.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical sales practices.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong sales, negotiation, and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to meet with customers.
- Ability to multi-task, problem-solve and maintain a high energy level brings success in this position.
- Excellent presentation and proposal development skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.
- Trustworthy and always maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree preferred (but not required) or past technical selling knowledge.
- Experience in a customer-facing role that includes identifying and addressing customer needs.
- Technical knowledge of air movement is a plus.
- Prior success in B2B sales of industrial products is a plus
- Computer software (including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Order Entry) experience in an office environment.
