Production Supervisor - Machining (LA PORTE, IN)

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced leader to join our operations team in La Porte, IN as the machining production supervisor. This role is essential in supporting operations through team leadership and oversite of our machining department. The ideal candidate will possess extensive management experience in an industrial setting, machining competence, and excellent interpersonal skills. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Supervise team of 10+ specialized manufacturing employees. 
  • Oversee milling and lathe machine operations.
  • Manage work schedules to ensure coverage for team paid time off. 
  • Train new employees on machinery to meet efficiency and quality standards. 
  • In partnership with, and reporting to, the Director of Operations, forecast and manage departments weekly production workload to meet shipping schedules. 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • 3 years of machining and management experience required, 5 years preferred. 
  • Experience with CNC lathes and mills including setup, operation, and programming. 
  • Ability to interpret and explain blueprints, tolerances, and quality requirements. 
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
