Director of Operations (Philadelphia, MS)

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Director - Operations to lead operations at our Philadelphia, MS manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial or heavy manufacturing, proven leadership and team development skills, with a continuous improvement mindset. This role is critical in driving operational excellence, production efficiency, safety, and quality while aligning with New York Blower's standards and customer expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Lead all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, safety, inventory, and logistics.
• Establish and maintain a safe and compliant workplace culture following OSHA and company safety standards.
• Ensure production schedules are met in a cost-effective manner while maintaining high levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee workforce planning, hiring, training, development, and performance management of plant staff.
• Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and sales teams to support custom product builds and timely delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operational functions.
• Manage budgets, KPIs, and operational reports to identify trends and opportunities for efficiency gains.
• Serve as a key liaison between the Philadelphia plant and company leadership, representing plant capabilities, challenges, and performance.
• Foster a high-performance culture through team leadership, coaching, and development.
• Set clear goals and expectations for team members providing ongoing feedback, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
• Identify and develop high-potential talent within the plant to support succession planning and long-term organizational growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial technology or adequate experience.
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role, preferably within the industrial equipment, metal fabrication industry.
• Proven success managing plant operations in a mid-to-large manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, ERP/MRP tools, and production planning.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a focus on team development and accountability.
• Ability to build trust, motivate teams, and foster a culture of accountability and safety.
• Demonstrated ability to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the business.
• Comfortable serving as the public-facing leader of the facility—representing New York Blower’s values, culture, and commitment to quality in all plant-level interactions.
