Director of Human Resources
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization. This role oversees HR operations, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compliance, labor relations, and organizational culture. The Director of HR ensures alignment of HR practices with business goals to drive employee engagement and company success.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that align with the company’s mission and objectives.
- Lead and manage the HR team to ensure efficient and effective HR service delivery.
- Oversee the talent acquisition process, including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies.
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
- Oversee labor relations, including union negotiations, collective bargaining agreements, and compliance with labor laws.
- Design and implement employee training and professional development programs in coordination with the Director of Education and Training.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Foster a positive organizational culture and employee engagement through initiatives that enhance workplace satisfaction.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on HR matters, providing strategic counsel and insights.
- Develop and manage the HR budget and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Develop and implement initiatives to ensure fairness, equal opportunities, and a welcoming workplace for all employees.
- Monitor HR metrics and analytics to assess the effectiveness of HR initiatives and programs.
- Lead HR technology and process improvements to streamline operations and enhance employee experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) is a plus but not required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of HR leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and industry trends.
- Proven ability to develop and implement HR policies and procedures.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Proficiency in HR software and systems. Knowledge in UKG is a plus.
- Experience in change management and organizational development.
COMPENSATION, BENEFITS, AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- $90,000 to $140,000 depending on experience
